How to Detox Fluorides From Your Body

Fluorides are soluble salts, not heavy metal. There are two main types of fluoride: calcium fluoride and sodium fluoride. Calcium fluoride is a naturally occurring component of ground water, and even in seawater. While enough of it can weaken bones or cause dental fluorosis, it is not nearly as toxic as sodium fluoride, which is added to many municipal water supplies under the guise of “protecting your teeth.” Fluorides affect so many body systems, but especially the ability to think clearly. It was fluoride that the Nazis added to the water to get the Jews into the concentration camps.

Sodium fluoride is a waste product of the nuclear, aluminum and phosphate fertilizer industries. One of the major reasons it is son toxic is its great reactivity, and the fact it can combine and increase the potency of other toxins. This sodium fluoride is contaminated from the start with heavy metals like lead, cadmium, and aluminum. Fluorides damage the liver and kidneys which try to eliminate them. Fluorides have been shown to increase the risk of almost all cancers, create symptoms indistinguishable from fibromyalgia, and carry toxic aluminum across the blood-brain barrier. Aluminum has been associated with premature dementia and Alzheimer’s, and is thought to have been responsible for the “dumbing down” and lower IQs noted among today’s youth. At the end of World War II the Americans mandated fluoride be added to the water in occupied Japan, and the IQs fell. Removal of fluorides from Japan’s water has resulted in rise of IQ among students.

Another target of fluorides is the pineal gland, located in the center of the brain. Fluorides gradually calcify the pineal gland, leading to dysfunction of the pineal. This gland produces melatonin (a hormone which helps us sleep and heal) and pinoline, among other neurotransmitters, and is the energetic center of the “Third Eye” chakra. This glans is considered the physical link to the upper chakras and has been associated with spiritual and intuitive openings.

Fluorides are commonly seen in insecticides for home or farm use. Fluorides are occasionally added to baby food and bottled waters, again “for the teeth.” Commercially grown fruits and vegetables irrigated or sprayed with fluorinated water absorbs it and can be laden with fluorides, even if labeled organic. Better skip that fluoridated toothpaste and mouthwash.

How to Avoid Fluoride

Reverse osmosis and distillation are the ONLY way to remove fluorine from water. Distillation removes all the minerals as well, and Fulvic Acid or unsulfured blackstrap molasses can be added to restore them and improve the taste. Avoid consumption of commercially grown fruits and vegetables by buying locally at farmer’s markets and organic produce. Avoid instant tea, grape juice products, and soy (milk or beans), especially with babies or young children. Magnesium, the second most common deficiency, can help by preventing more absorption, and calcium seems to blunt fluoride uptake to the bones.

Iodine competes with the fluoride, and can help detoxify it. Make certain your thyroid is normal before you start, but iodine is another common deficiency. Iodine increases urinary fluoride excretion in the form of calcium fluoride, so be sure to supplement your calcium intake. Lecithin is used to facilitate the process. Tamarind, a mostly Asian fruit, is used to remove fluorides in Ayurvedic Medicine, and the pulp, bark, and leaves are used as teas or tinctures which have been shown to facilitate and increase urinary fluoride elimination.

Liver cleanses are considered effective, but do not undertake a liver cleanse without first doing work on the gut itself (to prevent reabsorption). Milk thistle (silymarin) and alpha-lipoic acid, N-acetyl cysteine and Liver Protect are all good liver detoxifiers. Boron (sold as a laundry additive or as a hair/nail supplement) is widely used, added to water at 1/32-1/4 teaspoon each day. Consumed with a pinch of sea salt added to the water, it has been reported to have dramatic results. Dry saunas (FIRS) combined with exercise can eliminate fluorides from the tissues, combined with lots of water, chickweed tea (to protect the kidneys) and a calcium-magnesium supplement. As noted, some add lecithin to increase the elimination of the fluorides.

Vitamin C (rose hips, acerola, Emergen-C, Ester-C, etc.) was not mentioned as helpful, but is a mild detoxifier and anti-oxidant. In any case do not use ascorbic acid in place of Vitamin C; use one of the more absorbable and available forms. Chelation can help with heavy metals, and in that fluorides usually come laden with heavy metals, chelation can be helpful to remove the toxic metals. Metal Max (DMSA), DMPS, and or EDTA are used, but this should only be done under the care and supervision of a licensed physician versed in such issues. Clays such a Zeolite or Bentonite can help remove fluorides, fulvic acid and other fulvates (NOT folic acid), cilantro with chlorella, and iodine have all been successful. Slow and steady is the best advice.
